Rusk Anticurl 3-good or bad? worth the money?

i haven't tried it, but my friend swears by it. Rusk Anticurl 3? i want to try to eliminate my waves, cause they aren't nice, tousled waves- it just looks like i have helmet hair or something. so, she recommended i use this to chemically straighten my hair. A few questions: does it work? is it worth the money? will it significantly damage my hair? or any other things you wish to tell me
